The NSS unit of the college organized the Drug Awareness Program, a significant step towards creating a drug-free society, with the presence of Mrs.T. Anitha, Deputy Collector, and Mr. L. Azarudeen, Revenue Inspector. The program was held in line with the circular issued by the District Collector’s Office emphasizing the need for intensified efforts to curb drug abuse among youth. The event also underscored the mission of the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to eradicate drug usage among students and create a healthy and productive youth population. Mrs. T. Anitha addressed the students, highlighting the devastating consequences of drug abuse and urging them to be ambassadors of a drug-free society. Mr. L. Azarudeen emphasized the role of youth in creating awareness about the dangers of drug addiction. The awareness speeches delivered by Mr.A. Manikandan and Mr. R. Sivasakthi, third-year EEE students, further enlightened the 400 students about the various aspects of drug abuse and its effects on individuals, families, and society as a whole. Their speeches were impactful and resonated with the students, encouraging them to make informed choices. The students, in a show of solidarity, pledged to abstain from drugs and to actively participate in anti-drug campaigns. The event was a resounding success and marked a significant step towards achieving a drug-free campus and a healthier society.
