The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), organized a Guest Lecture titled ‘Funding Opportunities for Early Stage Entrepreneur.’ The session took place on November 01, 2023, at 03.00 p.m.
Dr. G. Vairamuthu, President of IIC, presided over the event. The session commenced with a welcome address from Mr. M. Sivasankar, EDC Coordinator.
Mrs. D. Chellathai, Joint Manager at Bank of Baroda, Sivakasi, served as the resource person for the session. She initiated the session by highlighting her expertise and experience in the field of entrepreneurship and funding opportunities. After that, she discussed various funding options available for early-stage entrepreneurs, such as angel investors, venture capitalists, crowdfunding, grants, and government schemes. She also explained the differences between equity funding and debt financing, outlining the pros and cons of each. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of networking and building relationships within the entrepreneurial community. Finally, she discussed how access to funding can help entrepreneurs scale their businesses, invest in research and development, and expand their market reach.
The session wrapped up with a dynamic question-and-answer session, where participants actively interacted with the speaker, posing insightful questions and engaging in meaningful discussions.
